Healthistic Food Market 2020: International Women's Day
Keeping in tradition with every year, the highly awaited food market by the Department of Food Science & Nutrition was conducted this year on the 9th of March 2020, at Anjuman-I-Islam’s Begum Jamila Haji Abdul Haq College of Home Science. It was a double celebration given the occasion of International Women's Day.

CGSI Workshop 2020
The department of Human Ecology & Consumer Services organised a workshop for FY, SY & TY students by Consumer Guidance Society of India. The workshop introduced students to various consumer rights in India, information on adulteration and various other useful concepts in consumer studies.

Community Nutrition Programme 2020
Under the guidance of their faculty Ms. Farheen Khan, final year students from TYBSc (Food Science & Nutrition) visited various schools and junior colleges to impart awareness about the importance of healthy food and good nutrition habits amongst the young, impressionable minds. The students, armed with posters, interactive games and jingles, received a very positive response wherever they went as "ambassadors of nutrition awareness".

As part of extracurricular activity for students from the specialization of Human Ecology & Consumer Services, students from second and third year were taken for a visit to the famous Kala Ghoda Festival of Mumbai city. Emblazon 2020
Still fresh from the victory of Republic Day 2020, the first week of February 2020 was brought in at Anjuman-I-Islam's Begum Jamila Haji Abdul Haq College of Home Science with great pomp and celebration in the form of the most awaited annual Inter-collegiate event in the campus- Emblazon. This year, the theme decided upon was "Meraki - Create, Nurture & Transform" The 3-day fest that culminated in prize distribution on the 3rd and final day was benevolently sponsored by Taqwa Jewellers, Olivia Cosmetics and Al-Hayat Perfumes amongst nunmerous other sponsors.

Convocation Ceremony 2019 for TY batch of Academic Year 2017-18
A degree distribution ceremony, under the norms of SNDT Women's University, was conducted for students who had joined us from 2015 to 2018. Degree certificates were handed over to students who cleared their TYBSc examination, through the hands of respected office bearers at Anjuman-I-Islam.

One-day Industrial Visit to GoCheese
Students of SYBSc, along with volunteer students from FYBSc and TYBSc, along with the principal and faculty members, went on an educational trip to GoCheese factory, at Manchar, Pune. They started their day at 6 am, leaving from CSMT campus and reached the location by mid-day. Students got a glimpse into the manufacturing of processed cheese, as well as mechanized extraction of milk from cows done under aseptic conditions. The visitors left with minds brimming with newly acquired knowledge and gift bags full of delicious GoCheese goodies!

Oktofest 2k19 - An Entrepreneurial Market
As part of "Entrepreneurship Development" subject, students of TYBSc (Human Ecology & Consumer Services) organized a one-day entrepreneurial market in campus grounds, under the able guidance of the subject faculty Ms. Priya Arora. The market showcased a wide variety of products - scarves, jewellery, purses, clothing, bath goods, craft items as well as eatables. It was a great opportunity for students to learn the tricks and techniques involved in manufacturing, marketing and selling goods.

Nutrition Week 2019
As part of Nutrition Awareness Initiative, Anjuman-I-Islam's Begum Jamila Haji Abdul Haq College of Home Science observed Nutrition Week for 3 days from 23rd to 25th September 2019. Like last year, this year's event was also sponsored by Association of Food Scientists and Technologists of India (AFSTI), with a cooking demonstration for FYBSc conducted by Nestle India. Following two days of competitions- which saw huge participation from students across the campus- an extensive lecture session by eminent speakers as well as prize distribution was conducted on the third day.

Industrial Visit to Bisleri 2019
As part of practical syllabus in the subject of Food Preservation, an industrial visit was planned for SYBHSc students in the month of April. The visit was held on 12th, 23rd, 24th, 26th and 30th April 2019, in batches of 25-30 students. The need for this visit was to know the processing of mineral water and to learn the functioning of a food/beverage processing factory. Students as well as faculty members found the visit to be very informative and convenient from location point of view. It also created a much-needed awareness about plastic recycling and environment conservation.

Farewell 2019
Anjuman-I-Islam's Begum Jamila Haji Abdul Haq College of Home Science bid farewell to its TYBSc students, batch of 2016-19 this year in April. The farewell, organized by Student Council members from FYBSc and SYBSc, was an event of mixed emotions and refreshment of college memories. The humble but enjoyable programme was also graced by the presence of Dr. Zahir Kazi, president at Anjuman-I-Islam, along with his dynamic team of office bearers.

Nutriholic Market 2019
This year, students of TYBSc (Food Science & Nutrition) organized their product development market -- titled as-- “Nutraholic Food Market” on 14th of March 2019 from 12 pm onwards on campus grounds. It was a great opportunity for the students to develop their entrepreneurship skills and go about organizing a program—from preparing invitations to decorating the venue and marketing their product to customers. The aim of the food market was to offer a combination of good taste and nutrition to potential customers, and create awareness that nutritious food need not be boring or expensive. From snacks like iron rich, calcium rich, protein rich, gluten free, refreshing drinks and desserts, the crowd had a lot to chose from.

Industrial Visit to Jaipur
Students from FYBSc, SYBSc and TYBSc, along with their principal Prof. Aasia A. Radiowala and faculty members, went on an exhilarating –at the same time educational– 6-day industrial trip to the pink city of Jaipur in the pleasant weather of January ’19. Students got to visit the well-established textile industry of Jaipur, along with visits to dairy and handicraft units, amongst others. Apart from visits to industries, they also got a chance to explore the rich historical and cultural heritage of Jaipur through its magnificent palaces and forts. The trip was, indeed, as memorable and enriching as they come!

The most awaited event at Anjuman-I-Islam's Begum Jamila Haji Abdul Haq College of Home Science - "Emblazon"- was celebrated with all the gust, enthusiasm and spirit that it calls for! From 4th to 5th of February 2019, a plethora of competitions and exciting prizes were handed over to more than 500 participants from colleges across Mumbai & Thane. Moreover, stalls displaying everything from jewellery, clothes, utilities, handicrafts and delicious food arranged across the campus grounds added even more oomph to the festivities and colors!

Nutrition Week 2018
This year, Nutrition Week at Anjuman-I-Islam's Begum Jamila Haji Abdul Haq College of Home Science was a cornucopia of vibrant competitions, knowledgeable lecture sessions by eminent speakers and lots of exciting prizes! Sponsored by the Association of Food Scientists & Technologists of India (AFSTI), and gift partners Nestle India, the entire week from 4th to 10th of September '18 was observed as Nutrition Week in the college. Students do better in college when parents are involved in their academic lives. Attending PTA conferences is a way to be involved and help the child succeed. Bazarda – market put up by Third Year Food Science and Nutrition students was organized on 22nd March, 2017 as part of their practical. The objective is to enable the students to understand the market and develop new food product; Formulate, prepare and conduct shelf life studies of a new product ; design packaging and nutrition labelling.

Students here perform repetitive lab activities, such as setting up lab equipment and preparing chemical solutions. They also conduct tests, interpret and analyse data, compile results, prepare reports, and present their conclusions.

Celebration of National Nutrition Week wherein activities like recipe making competition, poster making competition, and many more were carried out specifically on 3rd September, 2016. Renowned dietitians from hospitals in the city were invited for talk to the students. The basic objective is to intensify awareness generation on the importance of nutrition for health among students.

Voting and Democracy is very important in a nation because it provides people an opportunity to voice their opinion and vote for what they believe. In the monotonous life cycle of a student, which many includes eating, sleeping, lectures, and repeating, ‘College Fests’ shows certain degree of fluctuations in the excitement levels of students. EMBLAZON held annually from 21st to 23rd December includes vast ranges of competitions like bridal mehendi, mimicry, singing competition, best out of waste, salad making, vegetable carving and many more. Nearly 50 colleges from all over the city participate in huge numbers every year.
